The Silves Golf Course, in the Algarve, has a tranquil rural setting and is only a stone’s throw away from the historic town of Silves. However, despite its peaceful location, Silves Golf Course offers plenty of challenges for its players.
On the first hole you have to watch out for two water hazards, and there are also a number of bunkers here. A bold but accurate tee shot is rewarded by the course with an easy uphill approach shot. The good condition of the course and the mild temperatures allow year-round play, and those who play accurately and know how to choose the right club will score well.
The layout of the course is reminiscent of a parkland landscape; most holes offer great views of the mountains and valleys, with palm trees, olive trees and small farms in the distance.
Silves Golf Course is home to six par 3 holes, ranging in length from 136 to 201 metres, and four par 5s, some of which are uphill. The strategic arrangement of the bunkers and water hazards as well as the fast greens pose a challenge.
The first hole is remarkable and challenging, and hole 13, a long, winding par 5, also blends harmoniously into the beautiful landscape.
