Montado Golf Course lies on Portugal's Blue Coast, only a 1-hour drive south of Lisbon, close to the coastal town of Setubal and historic Palmela. Montado Golf Course was designed by the Portuguese architect Duarte Sottomayor, who began his career working with famed Robert Trent Jones.
Montado Golf Course, in the south of Lisbon, unfolds beneath oak, olive, chestnut and pine trees which were planted when the course was first built, whilst around it wind creeks, natural lakes and muscatel vineyards.
In operation since 1992, Montado Golf Course later underwent an extensive renovation under the direction of well-known Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva. The whole layout of Montado Golf Course was redesigned by creating new tees and greens, which are currently in excellent condition.
The highlight of Montado Golf Course is without a doubt the 18th hole, located on an island.
